Chongwe District Electoral Officer, Mr. Damson Mukwato, today met with members of the Political Party Liaison Committee to brief them on key activities leading up to the upcoming elections.
Mr. Mukwato took the stakeholders through the election activity calendar, covering the arrival and verification of ballot papers, preparations for polling day, the voting process, counting and verification through to the announcement of results.
He further encouraged political parties to quickly nominate and submit details of their polling agents to his office ahead of polling day to ensure smooth coordination and effective participation in the electoral process.
The engagement is part of the Commission’s continued efforts to keep electoral stakeholders informed, promote transparency and strengthen confidence in the electoral process, ultimately contributing to peaceful, free, fair and credible elections.
